Child Nutrition, a department within the Bonneville School District, provides meals to students and faculty throughout the district.
Our goal is to provide nutritious, well-balanced, student preferred, economic meals. We prepare and serve over 6,000 meals each school day at 18 kitchen sites through our National School Breakfast and Lunch programs. In accordance with Federal regulations, meals are available for free and reduced rates to families that apply and qualify.
We currently have two elementary schools participating in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. This program is funded through a grant from the USDA and allows us to offer a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to students in the classroom. Students are also given handouts and information on where and how the fruits and vegetables are grown.
We also participate in the Summer Feeding Program which offers free breakfast and lunch to all children 18 years old and under during specified summer months. This program was established to ensure that low income children continue to receive nutritious meals even when school is not in session.
We also offer catering services within the district.
